Tacoma, Washington duo Steve and Kristi Nebel will be appearing at the Wild Joe’s Coffee Spot at in Bozeman on February 10th from 6 to 8pm. They are promoting their most recent CD, Tandem. With Steve Nebel on guitar, and Kristi Nebel on bass, the duo blends acoustic musicianship with solo vocals and dynamic harmonies. Steve and Kristi have recorded nine duo CDs, and four band projects. The duo is touring the mid‐western US in February and toured the United Kingdom in August and September. They are leaving Tacoma on February 1st and will cross the Rocky Mountains as far east as Kansas City and back again, performing in various locations as well as attending the International Folk Alliance Conference in Kansas City, MO. This will be their third such tour in three years. They performed last year at Norris Hot Springs. Steve and Kristi Nebel started touring folk clubs in the UK in 2001. Last summer’s tour was their ninth.
Steve Nebel’s songwriting on a previous Steve and Kristi Nebel CD, “Raven Speaks”, was chosen by Bob Sherman for one of his top ten picks in 2010 for his award‐winning show in New York City, “Woody’s Children”. Kristi Nebel was among five finalists for the Academy of Western Arts Female Singer of the Year for 2014. She performs western swing and Americana music with her band, Cowgirl’s Dream. Steve and Kristi Nebel (pron. knee bull) learned to perform during ten years on the road as working musicians, and more years on the road in more recent years performing their own songs in folk clubs, and at festivals. Each has played many styles of music over their years of experience.
